0.0: Begin at the Baytree Picnic Area parking lot. Walk back along the road.
0.1: Turn right onto Stevens Creek Tony Look Trail.
0.4: Signed junction. Stay to the right on Stevens Creek Tony Look Trail.
0.8: Signed junction. Bear left to remain on Stevens Creek Tony Look Trail.
2.8: Junction near Stevens Creek Road. Turn left.
2.8: Trail skirts picnic areas. Stay to the left at two consecutive junctions.
3.6: Trail enters Fremont Older Open Space Preserve.
3.7: First of two junctions. Go straight, then turn right onto Vista Loop Trail.
4.0: Junction. Turn left onto Coyote Ridge Trail.
4.1: Junction: Turn right and climb to Maisie's Peak, then return back downhill to Coyote Ridge Trail and continue to the right.
4.3: Junction with Vista Loop Trail. Continue straight on Coyote Ridge Trail.
4.4: Junction. Continue straight on Coyote Ridge Trail.
4.5: Junction. Continue straight on Coyote Ridge Trail.
4.6: Junction. Continue straight on Coyote Ridge Trail.
5.0: Junction. The trail straight ahead is a dead-end. Bear left to continue on Coyote Ridge Trail.
5.7: Junction, again. Continue straight, and retrace your steps back to the trailhead.

Getting there:
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit Foothill Expressway (exit #13) and drive south on Foothill Boulevard about 1 mile to the junction with Stevens Canyon Road. Stay in the middle right lane and drive on Stevens Canyon Road about 2 miles to the park entrance on the left side of the road. Drive downhill, pull into the Chestnut Picnic Area on the left to pay the entrance fee, then continue on the park road to the ranger station on the right side of the road. Pick up a map, then continue down the road to the Baytree Picnic Area at the end of the road.
