Mile:
0.0: Begin walking north on gated and signed Skyline Trail. Stay to the left as the trail splits.
0.2: Junction. Bear right and remain on Skyline Trail.
1.2: Junction. Sanborn Trail heads downhill to the right. Turn left to remain on Skyline Trail.
3.0: The trail reaches a trail sign, huge boulder, and roadside parking. Walk a few feet uphill to the right, to Indian Rock. Retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
6.0: Back at the Sunnyvale Mountain parking area.

Getting there:
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit #7 Saratoga Avenue. Drive west on Saratoga Avenue, then in Saratoga, pick up CA 9 (Big Basin Way) heading west. At the junction with CA 35 at Saratoga Gap, turn left (south). Drive about 4.5 miles south on Skyline Boulevard (CA 35) to the unsigned Sunnyvale Mountain trailhead on the left side of the road (an emergency callbox stands at the driveway to the parking lot).
