0.0: Start at the edge of the parking lot on Gateway Trail.
0.1: Trail crosses Arastradero Road.
0.2: Junction with Wild Rye Trail. Continue to the right on Juan Bautista de Anza Trail (most commonly signed as Anza Trail).
0.4: Junction. Stay to the left on Juan Bautista de Anza Trail.
0.5: Junction at bridge. Continue straight on Juan Bautista de Anza Trail.
0.6: Junction before pumphouse. Stay to the left, now on Arastradero Creek Trail.
1.1: Junction with Acorn Trail. Continue straight on Arastradero Creek Trail.
1.3: Junction. Turn right onto Woodrat Trail
1.7: Junction. Turn left.
1.8: Junction. Turn right.
1.85: Junction: Turn right onto Meadowlark Trail.
1.9: Junction with Vista Point Trail. Turn left.
2.0: Bench and viewpoint. Return to the previous junction.
2.1: Turn left back onto Meadowlark Trail.
2.15: Junction with Woodrat Trail. Continue straight.
2.6: Junction with Acorn Trail. Bear left, remaining on Meadowlark Trail.
2.9: Junction with Juan Bautista de Anza Trail. Continue straight on Meadowlark Trail.
3.3: Junction with Portola Pastures Trail. Bear right.
3.45: Junction, again. Bear left and return to the trailhead.
3.85: Back at the trailhead.

Getting there:
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit Page Mill Road and drive west about 0.3 mile. Turn right onto Arastradero Road, continue about 0.5 mile, and turn right into the parking lot.
