Hot tip:  If you want to roll along slowly without being hassled by cars behind you, head for Inverness and Pt. Reyes MIDWEEK.  It must be the gas crunch because I had the road out to the beaches all to myself.  The elk herd was lazily grazing right by the road and the wildflowers were outstanding along the trails.  Golden Gate Trailblazer is my hiking book of choice for Marin and the map for Point Reyes published by Wilderness Press is its mate.  End the day at any one of the cafes in Pt. Reyes Station and you've got one of the most beautiful day trips in the Bay Area.  Flowers are out now, just do it.

Very well known secret.  Oh, wait, is that an oxymoron? :-)
