I haven't been to Big Basin in a while so this may be old news.  They're doing some remodeling and have those portable chain link fences all over the place.  It looks like a construction site.  Most of the restrooms were closed but there are some porta potties in the parking lot near the kiosk.  It has something to do with conforming to the ADA Act.   Given how they keep threatening to close the state parks and how broke the state is, it seemed kind of strange.

There is a prescribed burn so there was the ever present smell of smoke west of the ridge on today's hike to Berry Creek Falls.  The smoke was fairly thick in spots and eventually made me nauseous.  Otherwise, a great hike.

Parking now costs $10.
